Dixon Dance Academy - West Dundee and Elgin Dance Studios Offering Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Pointe, Hip Hop, and More!

Dixon Dance Academy opened for business in 1994 at The Loft Studio on Main Street in West Dundee. The first recital was held at Elgin High School and was a great success. By the second year, the studio had moved across town to its current location on Route 31 in West Dundee, behind the former Helix Fitness Center in the Century Plaza. The small studio housed all of the classes for our second year in business. During our third year, the fitness center suddenly closed, allowing Dixon Dance Academy to more than double in space. As we acquired the former aerobics studio, we developed the space into one large studio, one small studio, and our administrative offices nestled between the two. The additional space allowed us the opportunity to hire more teachers and offer twice as many classes. Over the past several years, we have continued to grow in leaps and bounds.

Dixon Dance Academy is now the "second home" to over 850 young dancers, 22 part-time faculty, and a full time Assistant Director and Director. In 2003, we took another huge leap of growth by offering classes at the Centre of Elgin, Elgin Park District's beautiful new space located in downtown Elgin. The Centre of Elgin facility boasts a spacious studio with a large waiting area where parents can easily view their children's progress on closed-circuit monitors. Like our West Dundee Studio, we offer a variety of class styles and times for all ages and levels at the Centre of Elgin, and we have been excitedly watching our classes in both studios continue to grow each session. Expanding even further, Dixon Dance Academy now offers adult dance classes at ECC in the new Events Center dance studios. We are also offering after school classes at the Fox River Country Day School in Elgin.

The staff at Dixon Dance Academy strives to spread the love of dance through music and movement. Our goal is to help students become artists and surpass the expectations each student has of him/herself. By providing a platform for performers, we aspire to keep dancers in the studios and on the stage.
