Andrea Capriotti
Assistant Director / Instructor
Andrea began her dance training at the age of seven in Bartlett and studied Ballet, Jazz, Acrobatics and Tap. She trained under Allen Dow for four years, concentrating mostly on Tap technique. Andrea was on the competitive dance team for four years at Streamwood High School. Andrea graduated from Illinois State University in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Dance Education. She studied Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Modern throughout college and took classes in Dance Pedagogy, Dance History and Dance for Children.
Andrea danced for the Illinois State Dance Theatre for four years performing around the state. She has choreographed musicals for many local schools. She began teaching at Dixon Dance Academy in the summer of 2001 and has been the Assistant Director since 2002. Andrea's choreography recently led her Tap Teams to the American Dance Awards National Competition in New York , NY . She was Director of Customer Relations for KACL Productions where she stage managed three successful shows. Andrea also teaches creative movement at the Children's House Montessori in West Dundee and Acarath Montessori Center in Schaumburg.
