DDA Dances at Disney World®
July 2014

All dance teams will take a break from competitions this year to perform on the stage in Downtown Disney. We will take a coach bus from the studio in July to Orlando, Florida. We will enjoy a day at each of the four parks: Disney's Hollywood Studios, Epcot Center, Animal Kingdom, and Magic Kingdom. Team dancers will also take part in the Disney Dancin' Workshop with a simulated audition. The entire team will perform a 50 minute recital on the downtown Disney stage.

Fundraising options will be available monthly to the dancers. Please join us in supporting our dancers! Great fun, shopping, food, holiday items, and more...

We are starting to book the charter bus, hotel, etc. Please find our Disney Performing Teams Travel Information section below. We will keep updating this section as more information becomes available.

Carson's Community Days Coupon Book Sales

We will be offering another Carson's Community Days Coupon book fundraiser in January. Coupon Books may be picked up in the studio office beginning Monday, January 6. Students may sell the booklets through the weekend of the in-store sales event on February 28 and March 1.

TRYING TO THINK OF GIFT IDEAS FOR MOM OR YOU JUST NEED THAT EXTRA SOMETHING TO COMPLETE YOUR PROM OR GRADUATION ENSEMBLE? The spring and summer collection has arrived! Come join us for an evening of shopping for the latest in jewelry, scarves and other accessories at “Charming Charlie”, located at the Arboretum shopping center in South Barrington (near the intersection of Rts. 72 and 59). From sales generated, the store has graciously offered to give back 10% to the studio. Make sure to visit our welcome table when you first arrive for some great desserts also before you shop.

We do need a minimum of 20 guests attending in order to keep our scheduled party time and to make sure they have enough sales staff on hand to help us. If guests can please R.S.V.P. to Sharilyn at the studio 847-836-5678 or email, by Monday, April 21st. Since final payments for the Disney trip have all ready been paid, money will be distributed directly to the dancer. Make sure to take advantage of some quality time and enjoy an early dinner in the Arboretum’s many restaurants before stopping by. Invite your friends!

Fundraiser Follow-Ups

• CHARMING CHARLIE - Top seller at our team Disney December Fundraiser at Charming Charlie was Victoria Rios. Vikki earned $74.69 towards her Disney trip and a DDA tank top. Congratulations!
We will run another Charming Charlie fundraiser in April before Prom, Graduation and recitals. So, plan to get your accessories in April.

• CARSON’S COMMUNITY DAYS - 18 Dancers participated in the Carson’s Community Days coupon book sales. We sold 132 booklets and qualified for the “in-store on the day of the sale” perk. Top seller and winner of Spiritwear sweatpants was Mia Siemieniec! Congratulations! Each dancer made a $5.00 profit per coupon booklet to keep for their own spending money on our trip. We will be offering this fundraiser again in the spring. Keep your eyes open for more information.

Congratulations to Jamie Anderson, Mackenzie Russ, Darcy Douglass, & Morgan Jones for earning another $84 towards their Disney trip by selling Carson Days coupons in the store.

• HOLIDAY MARKET AND BAKE SALE – 28 bakers participated in the sale. The total profit of the bake sale was $650.00. This will be divided amongst the bakers who pitched in and will be deducted from the final Disney installment due in March. Thanks to all of the participating vendors! Tastefully Simple, Thirty-One Bags, Lia Sophia, Pampered Chef and Lynch Creek Farm Wreaths. They donated door prizes for our raffle and donated back a percentage of their sales to each participating dancer. All individual profits will be deducted from each dancer’s final Disney installment in March.

• BUTTER BRAIDS – 26 dancers participated in the sale. The total profit was $1825.00. Each seller’s individual profit will be deducted from the final Disney installment due in March. The top seller and winner of one free master class was Darcy Douglass! Congratulations!

• Coach #1 is All Teen and Senior Teams with Ms. Heather and Miss Stefanie.
• Coach #2 is All Junior and Tiny Teams with Ms. Chelsea and Ms. Andrea.

Day 2, July 15 – "TIE DYE TUESDAY"
Disney Hollywood Studios

Transportation

The motor coach company that we will be using is Windstar Lines. We will be taking one of the 56 passenger Deluxe coaches, below you will find a list of the coach inclusions. We are looking into purchasing WiFi throughout the duration of the trip (details to come). In terms of outlets, there are 22 outlets per coach (only meant for charging phones, laptops and electronic devices). Rest stops will be up to the driver and the chaperones, depending on meal and bathroom breaks. The drivers will stop every few hours no matter what, and also to re-fuel.
