Auditions

All dancers need to audition to be placed on a Dance Team. Current team members must also tryout for each successive year in which they wish to participate. We believe that one of the best things about being in a Dance Team is being part of a group where everybody shares the love of dance.

Before the Audition

Get a good night's sleep
Eat a health meal, so you will have energy
Get excited to perform and do not panic
All you can do is your best, so there is no point in worrying too much
And most important of all, always SMILE, the judges are looking not only for dance technique, but for showmanship

Audition Guidelines

We encourage dancers of all levels to audition.
All auditions must be conducted before results can be posted.
All teams will learn two dance routines and IMPACT Dance Company will learn 3 or sometimes 4 routines in a variety of styles.
Competition Routines will be selected at the discretion of the Art Director and the Teachers.
Senior Tap and Jazz Teams - are for high school level students. 8^th graders may audition and may be placed in this team, if they are advanced enough and/or are needed to fill the large group minimum requirement for competitions.
Intermediate Tap and Jazz Teams - are for junior high or middle school age dancers. 5^th graders may audition and may be placed in this team, if they are advanced enough and/or are needed to fill the large group minimum requirement for competitions.
Junior Tap and Jazz Teams - are for 4^th and 5^th grade students. 3^rd graders may audition and may be placed in this team, if they are advanced enough and/or are needed to fill the large group minimum requirement for competitions.
Tiny Team is for 2^nd and 3^rd grade students. 1^st graders may audition and may be placed in this team, if they are advanced enough and/or are needed to fill the large group minimum requirement for competitions.
IMPACT Dance Company - IMPACT Dance Company - is for students who are interested in dance as a college major/minor or as a career. IMPACT students may have the opportunity to teach, choreograph and work at the dance studio.
